Event - YA Author Book Signing

Hi there you guys!!

Yesterday in the store we hosted a multi author book signing. Thank you guys for coming!!! Also thank you everyone who turned up to meet and chat with them :D
The turn out wasn't as big as I had hoped, but fun was had by all! We even had some yummy fudge and cakepops too! lol

So here are the authors...

Sean Cummings.

Sean is such a nice guy!!  He is a Canadian urban fantasy writer, who loves English football and he as a wicked blog! He was with us yesterday to sign his first YA book, Poltergeeks. It was also his birthday, so we had some amazing handmade fudge and cakepops to celebrate :

Poltergeeks was released last Thursday (4th Oct) and has gone down a storm with the book bloggers here in the UK. Here's the low down on it...

"15-year-old Julie Richardson is about to learn that being the daughter of a witch isn't all it's cracked up to be. When she and her best friend, Marcus, witness an elderly lady jettisoned out the front door of her home, it's pretty obvious to Julie there's a supernatural connection. In fact, there's a whisper of menace behind increasing levels of poltergeist activity all over town. After a large-scale paranormal assault on Julie's high school, her mother falls victim to the spell Endless Night. Now it's a race against time to find out who is responsible or Julie won't just lose her mother's soul, she'll lose her mother's life."

Sean has lots of projects on the go at the moment, one of which is the next book in the Poltergeeks series, Bring it on!!

Kim Curran.

I've met Kim before at the Strange Chemistry launch party back in August. She is brilliant! It was great to have the chance to talk to her yesterday. Everyone who came had a great time chatting to her as well, whether it was talking about quantum physics or why she really should stay away from old ladies! lol

Kim was signing her Debut book Shift. I LOVE this book, as you might have guessed from a previous review that I did for this blog. Due to a bit of a mix up, the Bluewater store has ALL the copies of Shift! That means there are plenty of copies for you all to get your hands on!

Here's the skinny on Shift...

"When 16-year old loser, Scott Tyler, meets the beautiful and mysterious Aubrey Jones, he learns he's not so average after all. He's a 'Shifter'. And that means he has the power to undo any decision he's ever made. At first, he thinks the power to shift is pretty cool. But as his world starts to unravel around him he realises that each time he uses his power, it has consequences; terrible unforeseen consequences. Shifting is going to get him killed. In a world where everything can change with a thought, Scott has to decide where he stands..."

Kim is currently working on the follow up to Shift, called Control *excited dance!* Here is Kim's website, so you can find out all of the latest info.

Sarah Mussi.

Sarah was here to sign her book Angel Dust. This is her first book with Hot Key Books. She has a number of books with Hodder as well as being shortlisted for a few awards and teaching English! Wow! she is one busy lady! It was great to get to meet her and have the opportunity to talk to her yesterday :)

Sarah as a brilliant website, where you can find out about all of her other books as well as some writing tips!

Here's more about Angel Dust...

"Would you move heaven and earth for the one you love? ANGEL DUST is a powerful, gritty and utterly modern tragic love story with a twist.

When Serafina, the brightest and most beloved of all God’s angels, is sent to collect Marcus Montague – the ‘original badman’ – and take him to Hell, she finds herself powerfully drawn to him and makes a decision that places her in the middle of a war between Heaven and Hell.

Can Serafina fall in love without falling from grace? Can Marcus’s soul be saved? And just who is the mysterious and ever-so-helpful stranger Harry?"

We still have signed copies of all three books available in store, so head over to check them out, and grab a copy! If you don't live near our store, then head in to your local Waterstones branch and talk to a bookseller. They will be able to get in touch with us to get hold of a signed copy for you.

I also have one signed copy of each book to giveaway, so keep an eye out here for that competition, it starts soon :D

See you next post,

Kaylie :0)
